About Janie Bowers
An abundance of creativity and the love of a good challenge have made Janie Bowers an HGTV designer of choice. To date she has completed 3 "Designer's Challenge" shows on Home and Garden Television and has won 2. The 2nd "win", her 3rd show, was her favorite because it was nearly a year long project with a lot of hands-on construction work to design and create the perfect master bathroom and powder/guest bathroom.
Her real love is flipping homes for profit, of which she has done 3. The last 2 were in historical neighborhoods and ended up to be just darling.....once the rats and dry rot were gone!
Besides being an Interior Designer, Janie loves to paint (see The Art Gallery) and act. She is in the Screen Actors Guild and in particular has worked on comedy TV shows, a Burt Reynolds movie, and has done some stand-up comedy. When she was offered the chance to participate in the "Designer's Challenge" show she knew it would be a great way to combine her love of acting with her Interior Design talent.
Janie's most recent passion is cooking, which she does for fun for friends and family, as well as for charity. Look for some of her delicious recipes upcoming in her internet magazine on this website!
Janie resides in Rancho Palos Verdes with her mother and her 3 cats Pumpkin, Boo Boo, and Coco Chanel, while she is waiting for her new home to be finished in the wine country of Temecula, CA.
